Background:

Dr. Brennan is an Interventional Cardiologist at Duke University Medical Center (DUMC) and faculty member of the Duke Clinical Research Institute, with a clinical and academic interest in the development and evaluation of medical devices. Dr. Brennan is the PI of an ongoing U.S. FDA U01 grant (1U01FD004591-01) developing Medicare claims for health outcomes ascertainment in product surveillance and clinical trial applications. He has substantial experience with both the NCDR CathPCI Registry and he co-directs the analysis center for both the STS Adult Cardiac Surgery Database and the STS/ACC Transcatheter Valve Therapies Registry. He has led comparative device evaluations in collaboration with the U.S. FDA and AHRQ, and is a co-Principal Investigator on a series of TVT Registry sponsored post-market IDE studies for evaluation of expanded clinical use of the Edwards Sapien transcatheter valve device.
