Caryn Etkin, PhD, MPH

Background:

Dr. Etkin joined the AJRR in 2011. She is responsible for all scientific analysis and interpretation of AJRR data, including the Annual Report. She also leads collaborative efforts with registry partners and stakeholders, including surgeons, patient groups, industry, hospitals and government agencies such as FDA and CMS. Dr. Etkin also directs all external research efforts with scientific and medical partners.

Dr. Etkin previously held positions with the College of Nursing at Rush University Medical Center and the Institute for Health Research and Policy at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has directed numerous national and local projects and interventions pertaining to health services and health promotion for older adults. She is currently the Chair of the Aging & Public Health Section of the American Public Health Association.

Dr. Etkin has a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a PhD in Community Health Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health.
